My files have now been replaced by better tools, called ePortfolios. ePorfolios not only contain a My Files type tool called My Resources (with lots more functionality), they also contain an editable Homepage for the user. However, My Files will remain on the cLc for a short while to give users a chance to finish any tasks associated with them, and to move any files stored in My Files, to my Resources. How do I move files from My files to My Resources?


Each students My Files folder can be found in their My Panel, by clicking on the My Files link.


In order for a user to use My Files, they must have been allocated work space.


My files provides you with a number of tools that allow you to set up folders to create and store your own work.  It also allows users to attach these resources to any set Tasks.

To Add a subfolder

To Rename a folder

To Delete a subfolder

To Move a folder

To Submit File(s) to a Task


To Add a subfolder:

  1. Click on the Add a Sub Folder icon
  2. Enter a folder name and click o.k
  3. The new folder will be listed in the 'Folders' section of My Files.


Please note: the folder you are currently in will be highlighted in bold, in the 'Folders' section of My Files.


To Rename a folder:

  1. Click on the folder you wish to rename
  2. Click on Rename Folder icon
  3. Enter the new name for the folder and click o.k


To Delete a subfolder:

  1. Click on the subfolder you wish to delete
  2. Click on the Delete Folder icon
  3. A pop up box will appear, click o.k to confirm the deletion or cancel to cancel the deletion.


Please note: you cannot delete the main folder, only subfolders that you have created.

To Move a folder:

  1. Click on the folder you wish to move
  2. Click on the Move Folder icon
  3. A pop up box will appear, click on the new destination for the folder (click on the name of the folder you wish the subfolder to appear in).


To Add a File:

  1. Click on the Add a File icon
  2. Enter a label for the file
  3. Browse and upload the file. Please note: if you have the Bulk Upload Drag and Drop function enabled, this can be used here.
  4. To find out what filetypes are allowed, click the 'Allowed File Types' link,
  5. Once you have uploaded your file(s), click the 'upload' button


To Edit a File:

  1. Click the Edit link next to the file
  2. Change the label of the file
  3. Browse and upload a new file
  4. Click the 'submit' button

To Delete a File:

  1. Tick the check box next to the file(s) you wish to delete
  2. Click the Delete Selected File icon
  3. A pop up box will appear, click o.k to confirm the deletion or cancel to cancel the deletion.


To Move a File:

  1. Tick the check box next to the file(s) you wish to move
  2. Click the Move Selected File(s) icon
  3. A pop up box will appear, click on the new destination for the file (click on the name of the folder you wish the file to appear in).


To Submit File(s) to a Task:

  1. Tick the check box next to the file(s) you wish to submit to the task
  2. Click the Submit Files to Task icon
  3. From the drop down box, click the task that you wish to submit the file(s) to
  4. Add comments, e.g please find attached my submission for the book review task.
  5. If you require help with the task, tick the Request Help checkbox.
  6. Click the 'Submit Files to Task' button.
  7. This will then take you to the task page (in My Tasks) where you can view files submitted so far and add comments.
