Stoke Park Speech and Language Centre

Stoke Park Speech and Language Centre is Hampshire resourced provision for children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN) located within Stoke Park Infant School. The children placed in the centre are on the roll of the Infant or the Junior School at Stoke Park.
All referrals are made through Hampshire County Council and it is through them that our placements are made (placements are not made directly through the school).
Here at Stoke Park Infants we are fully committed to the effective inclusion of the children from the Speech and Language Centre. The children are valued class members.
Stoke Park Speech and Language Centre is managed by a Centre Manager, with a team of experienced teaching assistants. A specialist Speech and Language Therapist is part of this team and works with the children on site providing therapy for each child.
Language Centre children are supported within their classrooms, benefitting from the additional support and teaching that they receive from the Speech and Language Centre. Alongside the infant school staff we build a team around the child. We specialise in speech and language development and use resources to re-enforce programmes of work. We also support additional needs such as occupational therapy, behaviour and emotional needs.
In a fully inclusive setting it is important that all children have the opportunity to take part in all school activities and that the children's contributions are valued and their achievements recognised. The partnership between the Speech and Language Centre and Stoke Park Infants is continuously developing in order to meet the children's very specific needs.
