Food @ Fishers

At St John Fisher we employ our own catering staff to provide healthy, good quality, tasty food which meets the Government food-based and nutritional standards.

Good food matters – it increases the potential of all pupils by ensuring they have a diet which enhances concentration, behaviour and performance.  Food and drink from outside of school tends to be higher in fat, salt and sugar than school food,

- so encourage your children to have school meals!

St John Fisher was awarded National Healthy School Status in 2009.

Consultation with pupils

We are working with the School Council and often give food tasters on Friday lunchtimes – feedback has been very good with our range of home-made soups scoring 9 out of 10 for taste!

Suggestions & Comments boxes are also available in the dining rooms.

Cashless catering system

The system uses biometric technology and is easy to use. All pupils have a catering account and can add to this by cash at the two machines in school or by cheque to the paying in box.  Payment by cheque is the easiest, avoiding queuing and ensuring funds are used for catering!  Parents can also obtain detailed information on individual pupils from the catering system – please contact the catering manager to receive this.  For more details on the cashless catering system please click the link below:

Free School Meals

The catering system works in exactly the same way for all pupils whether they pay or qualify to have a free meal, giving anonymity for those on free school meals.

The amount allocated for the free school meal is entered into the system by the software daily.
