About Religious Education at Bt Example Park Catholic High School:
Our model of RE is one of service.
We aim to address the needs of all pupils wherever they may be on their faith journey.
We seek to equip our young people with the skills to go in their journey.
We aim to encourage, empower and enable our young people to have a relationship with God. We do this implicitly through our relationships with pupils and in our teaching. We can never teach pupils what we believe; only what people believe, and then promote an understanding of why people believe such a thing.
We promote the importance of respecting all people, and recognise that pupils have freedom to choose.
We aim to give students:
· Knowledge and understanding of Catholic faith and life
· An awareness of Catholicism in the wider Christian context
· Skills required to consider and appreciate the ultimate questions and the religious and spiritual dimensions of life
· Skills to evaluate moral issues and develop informed moral opinions wile respecting the opinions others
· Knowledge and understanding of other religious traditions
