How to Find Us
This section provides directions, maps and useful links on transport to and from the school. If you are a current parent and are planning the daily trip to school, please also refer to the Getting to School section in School Routines.
The School is located on four sites along Grange Road:
Byron House (4-8 year olds) is at Number 63, Grange Road.
Whitfield House (Boarding) is at Number 69, Grange Road.
Senior House (9-13 year olds) is at Number 73, Grange Road.
Garden House (Administration) is at Number 75, Grange Road.
Maps:
A map of Cambridge is available to download. Alternatively, you may find the Google Maps, or Mapquest websites of use. Route planners are available from Google Maps, The AA, RAC or walkit.com.
Travelling by Bus:
For details on local bus services, please refer to the County Council website which includes route descriptions, timetables and service changes. Service information is also available from http://www.stagecoachbus.com/.
Travelling by Train:
There are frequent services from London, from both Liverpool Street and King’s Cross, as well as good connections from the west and the north via Peterborough and from the east from Norwich and Ipswich. There is a bus service from the station to the city centre. Alternatively, the CITI 4 bus service is 5 mins away on foot from the Station and passes directly in front of the School on Grange Road. There is also a taxi rank immediately outside the station.

Travelling By Car:
From the South
M11 (London / Essex / M25 East)
Turn off the M11 at Junction 13, marked Cambridge North A1303. Turn right at the lights onto Madingley Road (A1303), following signs for Cambridge City Centre. After 1 mile approximately, turn right at the lights into Grange Road. You will find Senior House on the right, shortly after the first traffic calming site with bollards.
From the North
M11 (North Cambridge / A14 East & West)
If you are coming from north Cambridge or the A14, continue on the M11 and leave at Junction 12, marked A603 Cambridge / Sandy / St Neot’s.
At the roundabout turn left onto the A603 (Barton Road) marked for Cambridge City Centre. After 1.5 miles approximately, turn left into Grange Road (opposite the "Hat and Feathers" public house). Follow Grange Road for another mile approximately and you will find the School on the left, opposite the playing fields.
Visitor Parking:
The best place to park if you are a visitor is in the car park in front of the Headmaster's residence. The entrance to this is near the raised zebra crossing on Grange Road near the T-junction with Clarkson Road.
Airports:
Stansted Airport is the closest major airport to Cambridge and is located approximately 30 miles south of the city. Various airlines fly into Stansted (mainly from European destinations), including Easyjet and Ryanair (a full list of destinations and operators is available on the Stansted website) and there are frequent bus and rail connections to and from the airport. |
