The Surgery System
For younger pupils, and particularly in the Pre-Prep (which includes the Kindergarten, our Early Years Foundation Stage), there is likely to be almost daily contact with the School through the Form Teacher at the beginning and end of the day. Parents are, wherever possible, encouraged to make use of the more informal opportunities for discussion that exist throughout the School. However, it is also important that all parents feel sure that they have access to the staff, so the School's Surgery system establishes a regular weekly slot when teachers will be in a given place, to meet with parents, by appointment. This also provides an opportunity for more formal or more private discussion should parents request it. The system is not confined to Form Teachers or Tutors. All Teachers are available to parents and all are willing to arrange an alternative time if the Surgery time is not convenient

This applies to the whole school, including the Early Years Foundation Stage. November 2012
