Principals
We believe that food studies is a valued aspect of the pupil’s learning process. All pupils in K.S.3. will have access to food studies. Pupils in K.S.4. will be offered an options programme which allows flexibility in their choice of practical subjects.
In K.S.3. pupils will be introduced to the importance of a balanced diet containing all the necessary nutrients. They will be given the opportunity to develop their creative skills and produce quality products either for consumption in school or at home where they can share their success. An emphasis is placed on good table manners and the pupils are given opportunities to develop their social skills.
In K.S.4. the emphasis is on developing practical knowledge and culinary skills. Pupils will be offered opportunities to display these skills to a wider audience by providing refreshments for special occasions.
