About our School

Redwood Park SchoolRedwood Park caters for 11 to 16 year old pupils with learning difficulties, including pupils with communication disorders within the autistic spectrum and those with language impairments.  Pupils come from a catchment area centred mainly in and around the City of Portsmouth,  although some pupils come by taxi from the outlying districts.

The school has been established for 50 years and was formally known as Cliffdale Secondary School.  It is sited next to Highbury College, with which it shares strong links.

The majority of the pupils are admitted following transfer at age 11, from Cliffdale Primary School, which is also a school for pupils with learning difficulties.   We also admit a number of pupils from mainstream schools and a very small number from outside the Authority of Portsmouth.  Redwood Park increasingly caters for pupils with more complex needs such as, Autism and those with language impairment.
